Why I Don't Use Vets

Con artists cheat people out of their money, scam doctors use placebos to trick the ill, and veterinarians do both!
Hey there, and welcome to the HorsoSapien blog! (Follow us on youtube! Now.) We're über glad to have you here and hope you'll be swayed by our brazen rhetoric in this and all our posts.
Happy 25th-of-July!
So back to vets. Well, let me just share a little story about my last experience with one. My horse, Sweetie Pie, was scratching her butt like a maniac for three years straight, and I mean, like, insane scratching on everything she could find; the stalls, the rusty scrap metal in her paddock, my cactus collection, everything! So I finally get fed up with it, and take her to the vet. The vet takes one look at my horse, not even examining her or anything, and says, "What on earth is this? Is this some kind of joke or something?" and I'm like, "Uh, no, can you fix her? She's broken and I have a super important VIP-type competition coming up for highly advanced riders that I'm a part of." And this 'woman' just laughs and says, "The problem with your horse is that it's not a horse, it's a-" But I cut her off there because I was just too traumatized to hear anymore. I sustained a case of minor PTSD for at least, like, three weeks after that and just couldn't bring myself to care about Sweetie Pie at all for the next six months. I was really hurt and decided to write off vets forever until Bongo got hit by a truck (video blog to come soon!) and I had to rush him off to a vet where, I kid you not, they literally just carried out an eight hour surgery to save the horse's life (what a load of bombast!) and charged me $300! But wait, it gets worse: they said this rate was 'a special deal' for me because I showed no inclination to pay the real amount which was significantly higher. So just to recap: they made up the phony procedure with a fancy name to cheat me out of $300 -or more- in my moment of desperation. These witchdoctors just come up with harmful scams to trick the vulnerable; don't be deceived by their medical 'degree'!
Nowadays, I refuse to see vets. Honestly, if there's ever anything wrong with your horse, a hard ride, heavy hand, and some Peptobismol is all it needs to get back on track!
